I live in the Carrollwood area and needed to buy some spices for a Dahl recipe but didn't feel like driving to the USF/Fowler area. My daughter and I decided to visit India Bazaar, and the experience was great. I quickly found the spices I needed, along with a good selection of options. I also found fresh curry leaves and cilantro at a great price. They don't have a large selection of produce like Patel Bros, but if you live west of I-275, east of Veterans, south of Vandyke, and need spices in a pinch, I recommend India Bazaar. I found the required spices reasonably priced at $2.99: black mustard seed, chaat masala, and dried chilies. I was pleased with my experience and will definitely return. The store was easy to navigate, and the owners were extremely prompt when I approached the checkout area, despite receiving a delivery. They were helpful and stopped everything to assist me.

The store has a good selection of Indian food, they also sometimes have samosa and jalebi which always taste good. The owners themselves are very kind and friendly people, they helped me out a lot when I didn't know or couldn't find some items and even gave me a free packet of cookies. I happened to purchase henna at their store the second time I came, which worked wonders for my hair. Overall if I could give this store 10 stars I would!

It's a small & tightly packed Indian grocery store that has dried and fresh herbs, frozen meals, colorful Indian treats inside coolers, etc. We were specifically looking for Red Chili Powder Kashmiri and Garam Masala. Yes - I can get it from Amazon, but this is a nice break from ordering everything online and I loove human contact. I'm assuming the Indian cashier is one of the owners; She was nice & walked us over to where all the dried spices were located. We made Keema (Spiced Ground Beef) not once, twice, but THREE times this past week because it was so, so delish at home, especially during COVID-19 (weird times) pandemic! In my opinion, Indian food is underrated - it is almost a tie in my book to Asian food because it uses a lot of different dried spices and fresh herbs. We bought a pack of Roti (frozen) & reheated it in a pan on the stovetop. Also, we got a pack of fresh mint only for a $1 (nicely priced) for adding to the dish & for garnishing! I'm challenging myself to cook more Indian food in 2020! They could do a better job of decluttering because there was a bunch of stuff near the coolers and the light that was blinking constantly should be fixed.

My god, why isn't 6 stars not an option?! You don't really get the same hospitality as you would other places. I recently bought a new Indian cookbook and was greatly overwhelmed by this stores small, but impressive spice selection. The female owner noticed that I was kinda stunned and helped me translate and chose the correct spices. I spent around $80 on numerous spices, paneer, roti, and other food, which for how much I purchased is fairly priced. It is also much lower than spices purchased off of amazon and way cheaper than how much a normal grocery bill would be for me. The sweet lady was stunned on how much I bought and gave me some free cookies. On my way out she thanked me and told me how she never really has customers. My heart immediately broke. If I could give this lady all of my money I would. Although this store is on the smaller side (in comparison to the Indian grocery store on Fowler), it has all the basics which is really all that matters. Also, if I getting someone that can assist me and have above standard customer service, the size does not matter.

Nice local store, full of spices, goods, foods and such... from India. Good selection of Patak's premade sauces and others, lots of different rice crackers and snacks, Jaggery biscuits, varied selections of Rice, Dahl (lentils), large selection of chutneys, and basically anything you would want to cook a good meal with. Well worth the stop... and they are close to me, so I will be stopping by often. Friendly people behind the counter too!

This is a very nice Indian grocery store. It's not huge but they have a good selection of Indian snacks, veg, frozen meals, spices, teas, and more. Nice family run operation. I believe they are Gujarati. Most items were priced. :) Not as big or nice as Patel Bros., but gets the job done. ;)
